Where to go in January

Traveling during the first month of the year has real advantages. In addition to taking advantage of affordable deals, you can also visit places that are at their best during this month. Here are which ones!

Norway

Where to go in January
It may seem a bit strange as a tip, since January is the coldest month ever in Norway. But it is also one of the most beautiful months to visit, especially if you are looking for a never-before-seen snowy landscape or a winter sports adventure. Add to that the high likelihood of seeing the Northern Lights, a neon show made possible by the dark, clear winter night sky, and you can truly live the dream. Oh, and in January the prices are lower and the influx of tourists is less!

Slovenia

Where to go in January
Slovenia does not immediately come to mind as a winter destination. You won't see the Northern Lights, but you can experience a different side of a country traditionally explored in spring and summer. Lake Bled, a classic stop, is simply magical when frozen, with the added benefit of having fewer visitors clogging the trails. It is usually virtually impossible to experience Bled without the presence of other travelers, so take advantage of the off-season and spend a day exploring the lake, its island, and the small town that surrounds it.

Barbados

Where to go in January
From December to April, Barbados glows with clear skies, sunshine and high temperatures. If you go in January, you'll enjoy the winter sunshine without the classic tourist crowds. Also in January is Barbados Sailing Week, which kicks off a series of sailing events throughout the Caribbean.

Nicaragua

Where to go in January
The beginning of the year is undoubtedly the best time to travel in Central America, with the region's peak weather occurring between December and March. If you have a little time in January, our advice is to devote yourself to discovering Nicaragua: start with its unique islands where you can admire some of the world's most colorful birds, and then proceed to Leon and Granada, you'll have to wander around observing the wonderful colonial architecture.

Vietnam

Where to go in January
Vietnam, like its neighbor Laos, is a safe bet in January. The weather is pleasant, dry and sunny, with only slight differences between the north and south. There are no tourist crowds yet, so you have a chance to experience this very popular country in relative peace. Not to be missed among Vietnam's cities are definitely Hoi An, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hue, the perfect city for cycling enthusiasts. Among natural beauty, Halong Bay, accessible from Cat Ba Island, and one of the world's largest caves, Hang Son Doong, are certainly worth a visit.
